WILMINGTON, IL to TAYLOR, MI: 384 miles (303 loaded + 81 deadhead).
Wednesday July 22nd, I arrived at the shipper at 4:30pm. I was delayed at the last assignment for four hours because the load had shifted in transit due to no fault of mine. Sometimes the load does shift because the turns and bumps on the road if it is not secured properly but this time it was just poor weight distribution of the pallets by the shipper. My day had started at 7:00am and I was starving. Fortunately, the truck stop across the street from this shipper has a Charlie’s Cheesesteaks franchise and their sandwiches are very good, not like the real stuff but better than most found on the road. The delivery was scheduled for 8:00am the next day and I would not be able to complete it due to the DOT Regulations on Hours of Service. I was instructed to bring the load to our yard in Canton, MI, and a Local Driver would make the delivery. I drove five-and-half hours and got a glimpse of the sunset on my side mirror as I was traveling Eastbound. I arrived at our terminal at 12:30am on Thursday.

Alice Bailey, a three-time widower, invites Charlotte and her fourteen year old daughter, Iris, to join her in a communal home, Mummune, she runs with the help of two other moms.
What evolves is a story of friendship and women supporting each other during hard times with unexpected twist-and-turns as the women in the Mummune all have hardship stories of their own. There’s also topics of teen-romance to keep it lighthearted.
Very entertaining with a Hollywood Happy Ending.
