What is a former Wall Street Managing Director doing behind the wheel of a big rig crisscrossing the country for 400,000 miles in three years?
Cassey had a distinguished military career, serving her country honorably for six years. She is a hardcore patriot, like most Texans, but it came out of necessity rather than a long-ago dream or desire.
About the Author
Romulo spent more than three decades in international finance, beginning with Bank of Boston International and Banco Santander before moving to Wall Street, starting at ING Bank. After working at several firms for 26 years, he joined New York Life selling life insurance then MassMutual NJ/NYC before declaring bankruptcy and becoming a truck driver.
Born in Venezuela, Romulo earned his Bachelor of Science from Universidade de Brasília and a Master of Arts from Columbia University in New York City.
His debut memoir traces four decades of transformation—from his South American childhood to graduate studies in New York, a career in global finance, and life behind the wheel of a truck. A Message from Romulo
I was once a Wall Street executive, living a life of power and privilege. After bankruptcy stripped it all away, I found myself behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler, logging 400,000 miles across America just to make ends meet.
Now, as I rebuild my life, I’m writing a book that tells this honest and heartfelt “riches-to-rags” story. It’s a rare glimpse into two starkly different worlds—the opulence of Wall Street and the grit of blue-collar survival.
This is not your typical riches-to-rags story—my book is a deeply personal memoir that shares my journey with honesty and heart.
